Membership

Section 1: Membership classifications: There shall be the following membership classifications.

Section 2: Primary Active Member.  Primary Active Members must be:

Owners or principles of an independent inventory service company.  No company shall be entitled to more than one primary active member.
The primary source of income of the primary active member’s company must be derived from taking physical inventories.
The primary active member’s company must have been in the business of taking physical inventories for a period of at least three (3) years as of the date of application to membership.

Section 3: Subsequent Active Member. Subsequent Active Members must be employees of Primary Active Members.  Subsequent Active Members have all the rights of membership including those of voting and holding elected office.

Section 4: Associate Member. Associate membership is available to any individual representing a firm of corporation offering products or services to members of N.A.A.I.S.  Associate Members have all the rights of membership except those of voting and holding elected office.

Section 5: Affiliate Member. Affiliate membership is available to employees of educational or government institutions and other persons not eligible under section 2,3 or 4 and not engaged in the inventory service industry. Affiliate Members have all the rights of membership except those of voting and holding elected office.

Section 6: Honorary Member. Honorary Members are individuals not engaged in the inventory service industry but who perform notable service to the Association. Honorary members must be elected to membership by a 2/3 vote of the Board of Directors.

Section 7: Apprentice Member.  Apprentice membership is available to any companies in the business for less than three (3) years. This membership is non-voting until the applicant company will present itself to the Board at the closest meeting session after the 3 year fulfillment to be voted in as full participating member.
